Williamsburg

I started traveling to Williamsburg when my daughter moved there.  Initially, Williamsburg felt far away but once I started going, it felt like home because of the connection with her.  The photographs represent my wanderings along the main street, Bedford Avenue, and beyond. Earlier pictures were mostly street portraits. Some were candid but with most, I asked permission and briefly collaborated with the subjects. Admittedly, many of the subjects did end up being attractive women so I began to think of them as a series of one minute or perhaps 1/250 second dates. Thereafter, I tried to photograph more candid street scenes and also moved farther away from Bedford Avenue into some of the other diverse communities that comprise Williamsburg.

The photographs shown are a selection of images drawn from the larger series.
